Golden Candypop Buds are a yellow variation of Candypop Buds appearing in all four mainline Pikmin games. When any Pikmin other than the Yellow type is thrown in, they will change into Yellow Pikmin. If Yellow Pikmin are thrown in, they will be reverted to their leaf stage.

Pikmin[]
In Pikmin, one Golden Candypop Bud appears in The Forest Navel near the Beady Long Legs, encouraging the player to use the high-flying Yellow Pikmin against the boss. Another Golden Candypop Bud appears in The Distant Spring and another in The Final Trial, alongside the other types of Candypop Buds.
A Golden Candypop Bud can be used up to 50 times to get massive amounts of Yellow Pikmin, but Yellow Pikmin themselves do count against the limit. This does not apply to the sequels.
Pikmin 2[]
The Golden Candypop Bud is the rarest type in Pikmin 2, as only one is found, inside the Glutton's Kitchen on Sublevel 3. Unique to this game, throwing in Yellow Pikmin does not count against the five Pikmin limit per Candypop Bud.
Pikmin 3[]
In Pikmin 3, Golden Candypop Buds appear only in Story Mode, with five in Distant Tundra and four in Formidable Oak. The Golden Candypop Bud is the only type to not appear in Mission Mode in Pikmin 3.

To unlock the Piklopedia notes for a Candypop Bud, at least one Pikmin must be converted into a sprout from the corresponding type.
