The Doodlebug is an enemy in Pikmin 2. It is the same in general appearance to the Iridescent Flint Beetle, except it is coated with dirt and has small flies hovering around it, giving it a more repugnant look. However, it is actually in the Flint Bug family, not the Flint Beetle family.

LocationsEdit

Doodlebugs only appear in the later caves of the game. Sublevel one in Frontier Cavern contains three doodlebugs, thus making it a good sublevel to stock up on sprays, and in Challenge Mode, they can even drop treasure.

DropsEdit

The first direct hit with a Pikmin causes it to drop 3 drops of Nectar, then the next 2 drop 1 Ultra Bitter Drop each.

TutorialEdit

Captains cannot harm this creature, it being required to have pikmin with you to flip it over. However, it is possible to defeat a Doodlebug. To do this it must be sprayed with ultra bitter spray, and it can be attacked and defeated. It can kill Pikmin by farting on them, although Olimar calls it flatuating. This may sound silly, but the contents it eats make the gas a level XXII biohazard.

PikminEdit

It is best to use White Pikmin to gain its items, even though using a Purple Pikmin's shockwaves are super effective. It emits poisonous gas; therefore, White Pikmin are best to use, even though it is hard to land it straight in the middle of their shell.
